Doomsday room / video installation / 2011Doomsday Room is a spatial video installation which tries to capture a moment thathas already happened and may happen again. “Doomsday Room” is a fictitious spacewhere a nuclear explosion is screened on a continuous loop in a “parergonic” viewthrough the window. The space in the room, its elements (old radio, broken computer, window, dried flowers, old newspapers …) as well as the haptic audio-visual effects(video of the explosion, sounds and vibrations, synthetic wind, electronic images …)all work together to situate a viewer into the position of a witness of such an event, i.e.into the fictional field of a historical epoch that may become a narrative of the future.
